Marnie C. Ferree, MA, LMFT, CSAT is the Executive and Clinical Director for Bethesda Workshops, whose mission is to encourage sexual wholeness by ministering to those damaged by sexual sin and addiction. She is the author of No Stones: Women Redeemed from Sexual Addiction, (Intervarsity Press), the first Christian book on the subject by a woman personally in recovery. Marnie is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, the American Association for Christian Counselors, and the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health, where she is on the editorial board of the professional journal Sexual Addiction and Compulsivity. She received her master’s in counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, and is a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals. She and her husband David have been married since 1981 and are parents of a young adult son, married daughter, and proud grandparents of a wonderful infant grandson.


Constance Rhodes is the founder and CEO of FINDINGbalance, and the author of Life Inside the Thin Cage, The Art of Being, and Finding Balance with Food, a 12-week curriculum. Returning as host of the event, this year she will also share the stage with Nate Larkin to speak on “Sex and Skinny” (see Nate’s bio below), and will also present with her husband, AJ Rhodes, as they explore the ways that sexual issues and disordered eating impacted their own marriage. AJ will also serve as part of the worshipART team playing keyboard.

Nate Larkin, MDiv is the founder of The Samson Society, a fellowship of thousands of Christian men. Because of his own story - a story of addiction, loss and redemption - Larkin knows every man's heart combines sinner and saint, pirate and monk. He is the author of Samson and the Pirate Monks: Calling Men to Authentic Brotherhood, and host of the Pirate Monk Podcast, a live weekly program encouraging men (and their wives). In 2010 Nate partnered with Fb’s Constance Rhodes to launch the Sex and Skinny Tour, an effort to bring conversation and understanding to the private issues of sexual and food addictions. A former pastor, Nate earned his M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary. He has been married for more than thirty years to Allie. Together they have three grown children and two grandchildren. Gregg Jantz, PhD is a national speaker, best-selling author of numerous books, certified eating disorder specialist and licensed mental health counselor. In addition, he is the Founder of The Center for Counseling and Health Resources, Inc., known as “A Place of Hope” — a leading healthcare facility for mental health and chemical dependency treatment. The Center has been featured on The Dr. Phil Show, serving as a counseling resource for participants to that popular show, as well as multiple times on A&E’s Intervention. He received his MA in Counseling from Seattle Pacific University and his PhD Counseling and Health Psychology from Columbia Pacific University. Dr. Jantz has been married twenty-seven years to his wife, LaFon, he is the father of two sons, Gregg and Benjamin.

Margaret Nagib, PsyD is a clinical psychologist specializing in Christian counseling, inner healing and treating eating disorders, trauma, self-injury and mood disorders. As Spirituality Clinical Coordinator, she oversees the Christian component of treatment at Timberline Knolls, where she is responsible for the development of spiritual formation groups that are experiential, process, and educational in nature. Additionally, she provides individual, family and pastoral counseling. As an expert in providing treatment from a Christian perspective, Margaret has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Today’s Christian Woman magazine, “The Everlasting Love,” a Christian public affairs television program broadcast throughout Chicago, and “Doctor to Doctor” on Trinity Broadcasting Network. Margaret earned her undergraduate degree from Pace University and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Wheaton College in Illinois.

Julia Kallsen, MATS is Chaplain at Park Nicollet Melrose Institute in Minneapolis, MN, where she serves with a passion to help patients find healing and wholeness spiritually and emotionally in the telling of their stories. In her work at Melrose she assists patients in finding a sense of meaning and hope to sustain them through their illness and recovery journey. Julia received her BA in English Literature and Writing from Bethel University in St. Paul, MN and her MA in Theological Studies from the same institution. *Julia serves as our HFH Spiritual Director for the 2012 conference.

Jonathan Allen is the worship pastor at Grace Chapel in Leiper’s Fork, TN. Leading a congregation of several thousand each week, Jonathan is known for his sensitivity to how the Spirit is leading, and to the ministry that can occur as we worship together. He is married to Allison, and they have two sons, Levi and Luke. *Jonathan serves as our HFH Worship Director for the 2012 conference.

Kayla Bergholz graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in May of 2000 with a BA in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Physical Education. She has worked as a Personal Trainer and Sports Nutritionist, specializing in the areas of eating disorders, body image, and chronic dieting, and currently works in the Film and Commercial industry as an actress and film writer. Drawing from her 20 year personal journey battling with food, exercise and body image, her expertise as a fitness trainer, and years of struggling to live out a Spirit-led life, Kayla desires to inspire, encourage, and support women and men who seek to break free from life dominating issues. SKayla and her husband, Bryan, have been married for 12 years and currently reside in Colorado.

Todd Davis, MA, LPC is a therapist at Selah House, a Christian inpatient treatment facility in Anderson, IN. He completed his undergraduate degree at Anderson University, and his Masters in Counseling at Grace College in Winona Lake, IN, with additional graduate work at Ball State University. He has worked in the mental health field since 1994 with individuals, groups, and families in residential treatment, juvenile and adult parole/probation, and in a university setting as a counselor and a professor. Other passions include dating his beautiful wife of 17 years, and playing and laughing with his two incredible kids, SheaLah and Caleb. He loves traveling, snowboarding, camping, reading, watching a great movie, and being outside. 

Bill & Janean Fuller, MA, CCST are Christian Sex Therapists who specialize in helping both singles and married couples live fully from their God-given sexuality and intimately relate with the Lord, and their future/current soul mate. Bill is certified in Human Sexuality from the American Board of Christian Counselors and holds a certificate in Christian Formation and Soul Care from Denver Seminary. Janean received her Master’s Degree in Biblical Counseling from Colorado Christian University under the direction of Dr. Larry Crabb, and went on to become a Graduate Associate from the Institute of Sexual Wholeness as a Clinical Christian Sex Therapist. Both Bill and Janean are certified as Advanced Mind-Body Practitioners from the Splankna Therapy Institute. Bill and Janean were married in 2004 after living 20 years as single, celibate believers. They have 5 grown children between them, and three grandchildren.

Misty Rees, BS, CEDS is the Founder of Selah House, a Christian inpatient eating disorder treatment program in Anderson, IN. She graduated in 1990 from the University of Evansville with a degree in art therapy, and received her CEDS through IAEDP/the Eating Disorder Institute at Saddleback College in California in 1996. A former disordered eater, Misty has worked in the field of eating disorders for over 15 years, developing programs at all levels of care. She is a mom, wife, daughter, artist, dreamer, and lover of all things vintage and bohemian. *Misty serves as our HFH Creative Director for the 2012 conference.

Jasmine Tate is the youngest person we’ve ever had participate at HFH, but you would never know it. At just twenty she is an accomplished musician and minister, not to mention a star basketball player for her team at Robert Morris University in Pennsylvania. Todd Warren Nationally-known songwriter, recording artist and ordained minister, Todd serves as Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center’s Spirituality Coordinator. With more than 20 years of experience, Todd uses his music to help residents express and celebrate their spirituality. Todd facilitates group sessions and performs campus-wide concerts to encourage residents toward a restored relationship with a Power greater than themselves.

Travis Stewart, LPC is a primary therapist at McCallum Place in St. Louis, MO, where he works with eating disorder clients. He is the original founder of HFH and has a passion to mentor therapists working with eating and body image issues. To this end, he hosts a book discussion club for professionals through the Azer Training Institute and serves as the editor of “From Where I Sit,” a new blog for professionals coming to the FINDINGbalance website in February of 2012. Travis lives in St. Louis with his wife Susan and children Laura and Spencer. Travis will present the workshop “Overcoming Body Shame” on Friday morning at HFH.
